This Martha's Vineyard Bed and Breakfast situated on two sprawling acres, stroll down the hill into the town of Vineyard Haven with its fine restaurants, galleries, shop and theaters. Just minutes from the Steamship Authority.
This beautiful estate was built in 1908 during the arts and crafts period on a bluff overlooking Vineyard Haven Harbor. The estate was home and office to the town doctor (4 in total) and their families for generations before becoming a Bed and Breakfast in the mid 1980's. The grounds are spectacular and the perennial gardens get more spectacular every year.
Our guests rooms have private baths, ceiling fans, cable TV, wireless internet, and lush towels and linens. All rooms are air-conditioned, with lovely garden views. Some offer a fireplace and a canopy bed.
Enjoy a home cooked breakfast on the porch or in the Breakfast Room which typically consists of Muffins, Scones, Croissants, Fresh Fruit, Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, and choice of the Best French Toast Ever, Eggs Benedict, Smoked Salmon Platter, Homemade Granola Breakfast Parfait, fabulous omelets or good old Eggs and Bacon. Rich Full Bodied Coffee and a selection of Mighty Leaf Teas.
We invite you to lounge on the lawn surrounded by mature colorful gardens, sit under the historic black oak tree while sipping ice tea or lemonade or take off for the day with a picnic lunch to the cliffs of Aquinnah. A relaxing and romantic getaway for couples.
Golf, tennis, fishing, sailing and other water sports are nearby. Complimentary bicycles are a wonderful way to get around.
There are beautiful walking and biking trails, horse back riding, cross country skiing, all with diverse scenic appeal. We are open year round. Call ahead and we will be happy to help plan your stay. Martha's Vineyard is easily accessible from Boston, and New York and anything in between. By either car and ferry, bus or plane. You can rent a car once you're here if ferry reservations are scarce which they can be mid-summer. Don't forget we offer complimentary bicycles to get around as well.
